A thermocouple is a device consisting of two metals, usually in wire form, joi
ned in two places. If a temperature difference exists between the junctions, a voltage is generated which can be calibrated to indicate temperature. The insulation on thermocouple wire is color coded for identification. Thermocouple cables are used in industrial applications requiring precise temperature measurement some examples include carbon composite curing for aircraft, aerospace, boilers, furnaces, ovens, food processing plants, cryogenics and more.
